 Samsung, South Korean company that is one of the world’s largest producers of electronic devices. Samsung specializes in the production of a wide variety of consumer and industry electronics, including appliances, digital media devices, semiconductors, memory chips, and integrated systems. 

Samsung was founded as a grocery trading store on March 1, 1938, by Lee Byung-Chul.

Samsung entered the Indian market in 1995 and has been a go-to brand for mobile phones for buyers ever since. The company started making in India in 2007 and is one of the few global companies in the country that has been populating Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) right from its inception and is also aligned with the Government of India's Phased Manufacturing Programme (PMP) goals. It has two manufacturing facilities in India, one in Noida and another in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. The planned expansion of the Noida plant is part of Samsung's Rs 4,915 crore investment it had announced on June 7, 2017. The Noida factory was first setup in 1996.
